Brotherly Love

Seth can be such a fun and sweet big brother.  He and Sarah have always been best friends and enjoy doing so many things together.

 

One morning they had to be in the pack and play together with a bunch of books and they were having the best time ever.  (Not totally sure why they were making this funny faces though).

Seth is also a very good boy when it comes to being nice to his little brother.  He just loves to sit next to him and watch him do his thing.

Of courses why sit when you can be even closer and lay next to your baby brother.

 

Yes, James lets us know when he needs his own space.

 

Watching the kids at lunch time can be a lot of fun too.  Some days they don't like to sit next to each other because they will try to take one another's milk or food but today they had to be close.

Sitting on the small side of the table together.  I'm so glad with how well they can get along at times.  It makes those hard times a little easier to manage when you know that they really do care about each other.

Motivation to Do Something

Going to the quilt show really help kick me into gear for getting something done on a few projects that are close to being finished.  I had two quilts in that I was determined to see progress and thankfully I now have.

 

I got fabric for this quilt from my birthday and last years quilt show so I had to make sure that I at least got the top done.  (side view)

The design is a variation of the French Braid style.  Super simple to do and fun because your mind is kept active with making sure colors are in the right placement.  Honestly, this is a quilt that you really can't screw up.  Finished size is a queen and I look forward to when I it really done.  I'm still getting use to the dark color though and I don't know what I want to do for a backing yet but I'm happy with what I have gotten done.

This is by far one of the most challenging things I will have ever done with my sewing.  Machine quilt the entire top of a TWIN quilt!!!  Trust me this is a big deal.  My old machine that I have had since we got married recently died on me.  I'm still so attached to it that I can't get ride of it yet.  My sweet hubby got me a new machine that can free motion quilt but I'm pretty sure it was only meant to do table runners and such.  It has a very small arm cavity area so doing quilting on blankets have been a challenge in that way but easier in others.

This blanket is for Seth to go on his big boy twin bed.  Once I am finished with it he gets it and the old crib size blanket will go to James.  I am also thankful for my little sewing buddy support that I get at these late night moments.
